|The Peugeot 206 is a subcompact automobile manufactured by Peugeot since 1998. It is mainly manufactured in Peugeot's Poissy and Mulhouse factory although some versions are made at Ryton in Coventry, England and in Iran Khodro in Iran.
The 206 was sold as a hatchback with 1.1, 1.4 and 1.6 litre petrol engines and a 1.9 litre turbocharged diesel engine. In 1999 a 2.0 GTI capable of 210 km/h (130 mph) was added to the range. There was also the GTI 180 model, which was a tuned version of the original GTI, capable of over 220 km/h (137 mph). In 2001, two more versions of the 206 were launched - the 206 CC (Coupe Cabriolet) with a folding steel roof and the 206 SW (Sports Wagon) which was a 5 seater mini MPV.
